Scope

  • The book Research Advances in Plant Biotechnology aims to compile original research and critical reviews highlighting recent innovations and applications of biotechnology in plant science and crop improvement. The scope encompasses advances in plant genetic engineering, molecular breeding, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics for enhancing crop yield, quality, and resilience. Contributions addressing modern tools such as marker-assisted breeding, genomic selection, genome editing technologies (including CRISPR/Cas systems), and plant tissue culture techniques are particularly encouraged. The book also welcomes chapters on functional genomics, bioinformatics, phenomics, synthetic biology, and systems biology approaches in plants. Studies focusing on biotic and abiotic stress tolerance, climate-smart crops, nutritional and quality trait improvement, and sustainable agriculture are within the scope. In addition, chapters discussing biosafety, regulatory frameworks, ethical considerations, and future perspectives of plant biotechnology are invited. The book is intended to serve as a valuable reference for researchers, academicians, students, and professionals engaged in plant biotechnology and related disciplines.
